Summer Adventures

The rest of our summer seemed to fly by. . .we had one last cabin trip at the end of July. Ryan and Brandon continued working on their water sports. . .by the end of the summer, Ryan learned how to ski and surf and Brandon was able to get up on skis. We enjoyed time together as a family while preparing for our "highly anticipated" new arrival.

The boys also got to prepare for sister in August. Ryan and Brandon went to a Sibling Preparation class given by the hospital. They went on a tour of the hospital, learned how to change their stuffed animal's diaper, learned how to swaddle their stuffed animal, and were able to ask any questions they might have about the new baby Mommy and Daddy were bringing home. I think I still had to answer the hardest question, "Mom, how are they going to take that baby out of you?"

Baby Room

Nate and I were much more laid back about getting our baby room finished this time around; however by August "Mommy" felt the need to start nagging "Daddy" just a bit more about finishing things up. Nate did a great job of refinishing the changing table and painting the room. I think we've got a room fit for our little princess :)

Jeff and Angie's Visit

We were so fortunate to have Uncle Jeff and Auntie Angie come and visit us in July. The boys had been counting down the weeks, then days, until they arrived. We were able to make a lot of memories while they were here. We went to Roaring Springs Waterpark one day and Jeff and Angie took the boys to see Cars 2. Over the weekend, we headed to the cabin to get in some fishing, boating, and dirtbiking. We had campfires, visited, soaked up some rays and came home happy and tired. The visit was entirely too short, but I'm so thankful that the boys and Nate and I were able to spend time with my brother and sister-in-law.

A Brand New Blog

Well, I'm once again attempting a blog to help keep family and friends up-to-date on the happenings in the Lowry family. I figured with a new baby on the way, now was as good a time as any to get started. . .although, things could be a bit hectic for the family. I hope that you will check in from time to time to find out what is new in our world :)
